Friday Finds: 3.20.15

Posted March 20, 2015 by Stephanie

Ohmygosh, this week was rough. I had the worst flu – I was so stuffed up I lost my sense of taste. I ate three Ferrero Rochers in a row, convinced with each consecutive chocolate that I would be able to taste again. No go. But, I’m on the mend now so soon ALL the Ferrero Rochers will be eaten (and tasted). I’m really looking forward to the weekend now that my tastebuds aren’t wacky anymore. Do you guys have any big plans?

Webstuff:
1. Korea loves plastic surgery.
2. Life can be so fragile.
3. Do you use TripAdvisor when planning a trip? It’s changing the way we travel.
4. I wish Cookie Monster was my life coach.
5. Japan and the power of cool.
6. Disney scares and thrills me.

Link Love:
1. These lemon meringue ice cream sandwiches!
2. Double tahini cupcakes.
3. Matcha mint chip ice cream – gorgeously photographed.
4. Uni grits and crispy prosciutto.

I’ve got my eyes on you:
1. Mike and I are about to bite the bullet on one of these chandeliers (Orbit 35) but we can’t decide between black, white, or bronze. We’re leaning towards black, but bronze is lovely too…and white is super fresh. Thoughts?
2. I’m really into one-pieces these days and this one (in the floral pattern) is so lovely!
3. Bring on all the pastel pink nails for Spring!
4. Do you guys use dry shampoo? Looking for a good one – do you guys have a fave?

Happy Spring! Hope you guys have a wonderful weekend!
love & potatoes,
xoxo Steph

I hope you feel better, Stephanie!! xx

  2. Oh girl. I’ve been on a mad dry shampoo rampage lately. I literally bought 8 different kinds in a month. My faves are Batiste original and Aveeno–I think both smell good and work really well. I don’t mind the Herbal Essence, Dove, or Toni & Guy… they all smell good, but I find they don’t seem to be as long lasting/work as well as the first two. I very much dislike the “not your mothers” brand. I also like the powdered Lulu Organics, but I think it’s less of an every day use. And it smells (good, but strong).

Bronze is really class. White is a bit Christmassy!

my fav dry shampoo is cheap-o suave! i have dark hair so i apply before i go to bed – by the time i wake up, it’s no longer white and is distributed evenly!

  5. Chrissy says:

I tried dried shampoo for the Inca Trail and I felt like it was just hair spraying my hair “clean.” If you get a good recommendation, please share!

  6. Lynn says:

Adding another vote for the bronze!

  7. Alana says:

Oh man, I so thought I commented but I guess I got distracted!! The Korean plastic surgery story totally got me thinking about another story my mom just told me about regarding a businessman and a divorce that I’ll have to tell you about one of these days. Your Friday links are the best cause they always get me thinking!! P.s. those ice creams and that UNI!! And regarding dry shampoos: Rene Furterer Naturia Dry Shampoo!! The best.

  8. I don’t like the spray dry shampoos they don’t seem to work quite as well. The Oscar Blandi and Klorane powder ones are probably my favorites, although I hear the Sachajuan one is great too!

  9. Jonathan Melendez says:

Hope you feel 100% really soon, Steph! P.S. Dove’s dry shampoo is one of the best. Smells great, and works perfectly!

  10. Marissa says:

So glad you’re feeling better, Stephanie!

As for dry shampoo, I believe that I’ve tried them all. :) My hands-down favorite is Kenra Platinum dry shampoo.
