The days are sunny and crisp, the nights are chilly and I’ve been indulging in pumpkin everything every day. It’s truly October! I know I sound like a broken record, but I really can’t believe this week is over already. It really went by in a flash. I spent a bunch of time with friends, got a bunch of work done, and gave a dear friend a birthday present that was the perfect combination of thoughtful and trashy.

It was a bottle of the Glenrothes and a giant can of Chef Boyardee. Funny thing is, I think she liked the Chef Boyardee more than the single malt. I love giving people the kind of weird and quirky things they love but would never buy for themselves. Do you guys ever give gifts that seem insignificant but are actually just what people want? Anyway, here’s what I’ve been doing around the internet this week. It’s a little on the light side – real life has been getting in the way!

Webstuff:

1. I love silly speed-reading tests.
2. I’m not sure if movies are ever better than books, but I am really looking forward to this one!
3. Do you ever go to Costco just for the samples?
4. I eat a lot of chips, so this is a very handy chart for those times when I need a good bag to chip ratio.

Link Love:

1. I love pumpkin, I love waffles, I love these so much.
2. Homemade pop-tarts. I don’t need any words.
3. If you can believe it, I’ve never had circus animal cookies. I need to change that.
4. These doughnuts look so, so amazing.
5. Can you say chicken and waffles cake?!
6. A homemade pizza guide!
7. I have a thing for bacon sandwiches.

Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!
xoxo Steph

I love everything about your blog, but your Friday links sections always have these stunning photos at the top. Could you perhaps link to the originals somewhere? I’m always curious as to whom they belong, and I’d love to see more of those photographers’ work, in addition to your great blog! Thank you!!

      hi eliza,

thanks so much – they’re actually photos that i’ve taken myself while abroad :)

Steph, wow I didn’t realize those photos were yours! They’re gorgeous! I only asked about the source because I’ve seen that temple + cats photo floating around on tumblr (hopefully it’s linked back to you!). Good to know, thank you!
