Hey guys…it’s thyme for some G&Ts! Heehee, sorry I’m so not very punny, but I just couldn’t resist. Anyway, the lovely Sherrie and Renee are hosting a big ol’ boozy (and non-boozy) #drinkthesummer bash and I thought I’d bring the ever classy gin and tonic. Gin and tonics are super simple, and as with most super simple things, easy to mess up. Because there are essentially only two ingredients, they better be the best damn two ingredients you can get your hands on.

The best gin and tonics I’ve ever had are at the Gin Pantry. They take their gin- tonics (as they call them) seriously over there and they are absolutely delicious. They have gin-tonic bars where you can select your favorite gin, favorite tonic, and garnish. They come in huge roundish ballon glasses and because they taste so good, you get drunk very, very quickly. Or at least I do.

Gin and tonics will forever remind me of Madrid – hot summer nights made just a bit more bearable with giant frosty gin tonics garnished with juniper berries and rosemary. Oh-so-slightly sweet, herbal, and clean: gin and tonics taste like adventure.

Thyme Gin and Tonic

active time: 3 minutes
total time: 5 minutes

  • ice
  • 1-2 ounces good quality gin
  • 3-4 ounces good quality tonic water
  • 2 thyme sprigs
  • lime twist to garnish

Fill a glass 3/4 with ice. Pour on the gin, then the tonic. Add a couple sprigs of thyme and a lime twist. Enjoy and repeat as needed.
