I am so incredibly obsessed with Tokyo's pastry game. It seems like everywhere I go I see something I want to eat. The cake above, Sadaharu Aoki's Matcha Adzuki has delicious layers of matcha buttercream, dark chocolate genoise, adzuki beans, and a crispy-crunchy praline base. Seriously heaven. It's full on Christmas decorations and music over here in Tokyo. I can't wait to buy myself a traditional Christmas cake! Apparently, they celebrate Christmas by eating fried chicken (preferably from KFC) and having a strawberries and cream Christmas cake for dessert. There are always a bunch of things I'm forever falling behind on, so I always remind myself to take a break when I need it because when I get stressed, I go a little crazy. There's nothing more relaxing than biting into a crispy, crunchy sandwich and watching the snow softly fall outside the window. We had Thanksgiving at my brother's house this year (back when it was Canadian Thanksgiving, over a month ago!) and the part I was most looking forward to was the leftovers: specifically, the turkey bones. I had thought that my mom was making the turkey and bringing it over so I was certain that she'd let me have them. I can't remember the first time I had a banh mi, but I do remember that once I started, I didn't stop. Mike and I have even gone on (multiple) banh mi crawls before...in multiple cities. No, nothing quite as exciting as a banh mi road trip, but, if we're in a city known for banh mi, we'll definitely make the rounds. We've even found a banh mi place here in Tokyo! We haven't tried it out yet, but it's on our giant map of things we'd like to eat.

It's Friday! Are you guys out Black Friday shopping? Even if I were in the States, I definitely wouldn't be – I can't bear crowds. Which is slightly hilarious considering how crowded Tokyo is. But, the thing is, there are tonnes and tonnes of side streets that are totally deserted. Which means Mike and I have been having a lot of fun taking random photos. We've also been stuffing our faces, mostly with udon, ramen, and soba, because if you know me, you know that I'm noodle folk.
